I have a fascination with the way companies use the information we give them about our regular lives. Tesco is my shopping best friend because my Clubcard tells them I like Honeydew melons, so I get vouchers offering me other melon based deals. Amazon is also my buddy, the shopping site knows the books I like and whispers in my ear with suggestions for future reads.
So my invention today is online dating that uses browsing habits to help people find love. This could be a browser app that studies single folks online life and hooks them up with potential matches based on shared interests. If on average we spend 39 hours a month online that’s got to be a lot more information than any dating site ‘compatibility test’ will reveal.
So let’s hope this invention comes to be, and maybe one day a lover of Honeydew melons will find her match in some grape loving Tesco shopper who enjoys the same kind of books she does.
